Downtime are a sophisticated and lively Jazz band made up of Saxophone, Double & Electric bass, Guitar and Drums and can also feature one of the many talented singers we work with to complete 5 piece line up. The band will create a vibrant atmosphere and can accommodate any need. No matter what event we offer a diverse selection of music, to laid back Jazz and Latin grooves, modern Jazz and something funky to upbeat pop music perfect to get people dancing!

The bands exciting repertoire covers the best of Jazz performing popular music from Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock to the smooth and elegant sounds of Brazil’s Bossa Nova. Downtime also mix up their repertoire by performing contemporary pop songs from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys in an upbeat funky style to get everyone in the party mood! At each of our gigs many people compliment us on our song selection, every event is a showcase of the bands versatility and ability to cater for any desire.

All the members of Downtime have completed extensive study of music at some of Melbourne’s most prestigious colleges such as Melbourne University’s Victorian College of the Arts, Monash University and Box Hill Institute. Each member of the band perform regularly around Melbourne in Jazz, Pop, Latin and World music ensembles, all this experience ensures a high level of skill and professionalism.
