What do we get when we book entertainment with Wedding Band Collective for our wedding reception?
When booking with Wedding Band Collective, the act you have chosen will be there for the night. As we understand that every wedding is different, we work with brides & grooms to ensure that the artists work with the wedding schedule, in order to maximise the musical component of the night whilst working in with the wedding formalities.
How long does the entertainment play for during our reception?
A typical wedding reception is 5 hours long, including 4 x 45 minute live sets from the band. Each wedding is different though, so the artist will play for as long as you like, based around your formalities.
Will the artist provide all their own equipment or do we need to supply in order for them to play?
The act you book will provide their own PA system, lighting and any additional features they may require. All they need is access to power at the venue.
What happens when the entertainment isn’t playing?
Even when there is no entertainment playing we will make sure that the music is on point ,whether that is relaxing background music during meals or DJ party sets during band breaks, we’ve got playlists to suit everything!
Will you provide an MC?
Depending on the act you book, we may be able to provide you with an MC at a minimal additional cost, just be sure to request this when you are booking!
Do you play same sex weddings?
Absolutely! Weddings are about love & happiness, and we feel extremely fortunate to be able to play for any couple on their big day.
Do you take requests?
Certainly! Our advice is to ask the entertainment well in advance if you would like any specific songs played at your wedding. We usually recommend choosing a special song for your bridal dance, goodbye circle or any other formalities you may have. All we ask is for song requests to be made no later than one calendar month before the wedding.
What is the process leading up to our wedding day?
We will work with you in regards to your schedule, song requests, MC duties, venue requirements, or any other items you’d like to discuss in the lead up to your wedding. We understand how stressful it can be to plan a wedding, so we make sure to make organising the music an extremely easy and efficient process.
When will the entertainment arrive at the venue?
Load in time is based on when the guests enter the venue. It takes roughly 45 minutes for most artists to unload and set up, however, depending on the act you book, they may arrive 90-120 minutes to ensure plenty of time for set up and to discuss the logistics with the venue.
Do we need to provide a meal for the band/solo/duo/DJ?
Yes please! From load in to leaving time the musicians are usually at a wedding venue for 7-9 hours so a meal and drinks are always appreciated.
Are there any hidden costs or additional fees?
Not at all! The price we quote is for the entertainment for the full reception or ceremony, depending on what you’ve booked. We’ll play as much music as you would like, learn song requests and help with planning along the way.
Do you travel for weddings?
We certainly do. Don’t stress if your wedding isn’t in Melbourne, our artists are happy to travel far and wide.
Can we see the artists perform live?
Depending on the entertainment you want you may be able to see some artists perform live, however, since most of our acts specialise in weddings they may not have public gigs available very often.
